Bystřice pod Hostýnem is situated at the foot of the Hostýn hills under the mountain after which it was named. Its location enables very easy access to the surrounding mountains. You will find here a lot of restaurants and good-class accommodation facilities. The town offers its visitors enough opportunities to spend their leisure time. There is a huge number of both sporting facilities and cultural and historical sites. In summer Bystřice is a starting point of many tourist paths. There are also marked cycle trails here for more efficient bikers.

The town is a regional crossroads and has direct bus and train connections practically with all major towns of central Moravia (Kroměříž, Zlín, Přerov, Hranice na Moravě, Vsetín, Valašské Meziříčí, Lipník nad Bečvou), but also with Brno and Ostrava. Bystřice belongs to those little towns with a very good road accessibility even on weekends and public holidays.
